Other ways to promote your ideas or events
Unfortunately, not all suggestions for homepage features can be used. This may be for a number of reasons:
- They do not meet any of the homepage selection criteria
- They are of limited interest to an external audience
- Their only aim is to promote a specific course, event or cause
However, there are other channels available that may be more appropriate for communicating your message.
Overview
Overview is the University's electronic and online monthly staff magazine. It is delivered directly to all staff with email access but hard copies are also available on request.
Media Team
If you need to get your message out to a wider audience, our Media Team may be able to help you. They can provide support and advice regarding writing press releases and other aspects of media management.
Social media
The central University social media accounts reach a wide external and internal audience. Contact socialmedia@sheffield.ac.uk if you'd like to suggest something to be mentioned on them.

Union of Students
If you are specifically trying to reach an internal student audience, then the Union of Students may be able to publicise your cause using one of their communication channels, such as Forge Press or their website.

The University's What's on services can help publicise your event to an internal and external audience.
The Diary of Events online database lists events taking place at the University.
Published three times per year, the Open Campus leaflet provides details of the University's programme of events for the whole community.
