Your safety and security

Your security and safety is a key priority for us and we have a wide range of measures in place to help ensure that you stay safe during your time with us. These include 24/7 security services, CCTV and regular patrols.

Although Sheffield is one of the safest cities in the UK, it is important that you take responsibility for your own personal safety, so here are a few tips:

Your personal safety

  • Don’t walk home alone after a night out. Where possible, try to get a taxi but if you have to, walk with a group of friends
  • Never get into an unlicensed minicab – no matter how long you’ve been waiting or how much you just want to get home, it is never worth the risk
  • Avoid talking on your mobile phone, listening to music or doing anything that means you might be distracted from what is going on around you
  • If you do walk home alone, carry a personal attack alarm
  • Day or night, walk facing the traffic so that a vehicle can’t pull up behind you unnoticed

Your personal property

  • When you’re away from your room, don’t leave personal property or valuables somewhere obvious or unattended
  • Don’t place valuable equipment on show or in front of windows – particularly if you live on the ground floor
  • Remember to lock your windows and doors before you leave your accommodation

Fire safety
