Sheffield Responsible Landlord Scheme
Sheffield City Council operates the Sheffield Responsible Landlord Scheme (SRLS), which is a voluntary scheme for most types of private sector housing in Sheffield (please note that Resident Owner accommodation is not included in the SRLS).
Currently, all properties registered with propertywithUS (excluding Resident Owners and Licensed Houses in Multiple Occupation) are required to meet the standards of the SRLS.

The SRLS incorporates a Physical Property Standard for each property and a Management and Tenants Code of Practice. These include:
- Property condition
- Health and safety
- Amenity provision
- Energy
- Security
- Fire precautions
- Gas and electrical safety
- Tenancy and rent obligations
- Repair and maintenance
- Equal opportunity
- Dealing with disputes and complaints
