We are very pleased to be able to offer financial assistance in the form of scholarships and bursaries to many of our undergraduate students.
Undergraduate Scholarships and Bursaries
Undergraduate Academic Achievement Scholarships
The Department provides Undergraduate Academic Achievement Scholarships for all Home and EU students entering in September 2013 who achieve AAA in their A-levels (or equivalent).
An Undergraduate Academic Achievement Scholarship is worth £3000 of which £2000 is paid after registration and a second installment of £1000 is paid at the end of the first year if a course average of 70% or more is achieved.
Undergradauate Academic Achievement Scholarships are distinct from the University Bursaries scheme for UK students and can be awarded on top of other bursaries you may receive from the University.
Applicants deferring entry are eligible for consideration for this award; payment will automatically be deferred until October 2014.

Sheffield Scholars
Three types of scholarship are available to UK/EU students under the Sheffield Scholars scheme:
- City Scholars: these scholarships provide extra financial support depending on where you live and your grades
- Global Scholars: these pay for the air fare to an overseas summer school, as well as tuition and accommodation while you are there
- Masters Scholars: with these scholarships we pay for you to do a masters straight after your undergraduate course

As an undergraduate student in our IET accredited courses you will be eligible to apply for a range of IET sponsored scholarships and awards.

Other Sources of funding
Lloyds Scholars is a programme for selected students at the University of Bristol and the University of Sheffield.
Second year students on four year courses, or third year students on five year courses, who are studying an accredited MEng degree and who are also UK nationals aged under 25 are eligible to apply for Engineering Leadership Awards from the Royal Academy of Engineering.
Outstanding University of Sheffield first year Engineering, Management, Business and Technology Students on low-income are eligible to apply for the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Program.
