Aerospace Engineering (Private Pilot Instruction)

You will follow the same syllabus for the MEng or BEng Aerospace Engineering throughout your course, but in the second semester of year 2 one module is replaced by a specially designed flying module run in collaboration with Sheffield Aero Club. This includes ground training for flight, five hours flying and some time on our in-house flight simulator.

Individual arrangements may be made with the flying club to continue to a UK or European Private Pilot´s Licence by completing further flying hours.

The award of your degree is not conditional on you achieving a Private Pilot´s Licence. Acceptance of students for pilot instruction is subject to medical and security checks.

There is an additional one-off cost of approximately £1000 for this course. The precise fee will be confirmed prior to your arrival.
