Community archaeological and heritage projects
The department has an active outreach programme which aims to help local groups pursue archaeological and heritage projects.
It is well equipped with field and laboratory equipment and, where possible, this can be made available to societies in Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Chesterfield and surrounding areas.
To discuss opportunities and availability, please contact Dr Roger Doonan
Excavations and heritage events
Throughout the year the department runs a number of excavations and other heritage events ranging from geophysical surveys to experimental archaeology events.
The public, schools and local societies are always welcome to participate.
