Fees

Tuition fees for Archaeology Taught Masters courses and Research Degrees next year will be announced later in the year.

Different fees are charged depending on whether you’re classed as a home or overseas student.

Funding

Scholarships from the University of Sheffield and external sources are available for new UK, EU and International postgraduates to help cover tuition fees and living expenses.

These include:

Faculty of Arts and Humanities Masters Fee Scholarships
Deadline for applications: 29 March 2013

AHRC Scholarships (UK and EU applicants only)
Deadline for applications:

• PhD applicants – 1 February 2013
• Masters applicants - 29 March 2013

Faculty of Arts and Humanities PhD Scholarships
Deadline for applications: 1 February 2013

International students

Additional scholarships may be available based on your country of origin.

Please note that although we accept applications for postgraduate programmes at any time, if you wish to apply for funding (AHRC or University and Faculty Scholarships) you must apply for a place and submit your funding application before the funding deadlines.

Department of Archaeology bursaries

If you accept a place on the MA Aegean Archaeology course, you're automatically considered for the Conart Bursary, worth up to £1,000.

You may also be eligible for the Ian Sanders Occasional Postgraduate Bursary, worth between £500 and £1,000, for students researching in the fields of Classical or Mediterranean Archaeology.

Keith and Nong Branigan

The Keith and Nong Branigan bursary is currently worth up to £800. All suitable applicants will automatically be considered once they have accepted a place in the department.
