Subjects/methods: Archaeomaterials

The application of scientific techniques to the study of archaeomaterials is central to our understanding of ancient material culture and the conditions under which human communities constructed and maintained their societies. The study of archaeological materials is multidisciplinary, with ethnography, experimental replication and laboratory analysis all contributing to our knowledge of the relationship between human action, technological change and the expression of material culture.
