MA (Cantab) DipArch RIBA
I read architecture at the University of Cambridge and the University of Sheffield. I am a registered Architect and have worked in private practice in Cambridge, Leeds and Saltaire, completing a wide range of projects both locally in the Yorkshire region and across the United Kingdom. Further afield, I have been involved with the development of schemes in the middle-east and China, including a period of time based in Shanghai. I am a co-founder and principal of 3xa-Design.
| Teaching Activities |
I am a studio tutor in year two of the undergraduate school. I have also contributed to technical tutorials for the third year course, and acted as a guest reviewer for the first year, the MA in conservation and regeneration, and the MSc in sustainable architecture courses. I am interested in the exploration of conceptual approaches to design, the development and testing of these ideas through a creative and analytical process, and their tectonic and material resolution. I consider a key role of a studio tutor to be to encourage and support the development of an independent, questioning, and self-critical approach to the design process |
