BA(Hons) DipArch RIBA

I graduated from Westminster University, London in 1999 and
have worked in various design practices throughout London. I
currently run my own architectural practice in Sheffield (RL-AD)
which is both conceptually and contextually driven. I also have an
interest in public art and sculpture which is an amalgamation of
architecture and design. Previous award winning projects include
the National Memorial to Charles Darwin in Shrewsbury and
regional RIBA shortlist for a housing scheme in East London.

I have an enthusiasm for teaching and have been a design tutor
for third year for the past eight years. The first four years were at
the Birmingham School of Architecture where I still act as a
visiting design tutor.

Teaching Activities

Year 3 Design Tutor

My approach is to provide students with a conceptual or thematic
platform which encourages them to critically analyse and develop
their own individual techtonic resolutions. Through this process
and group discussions, students have the opportunity to explore
and experiment in the studio through drawing and model making.
This results in a rich variety of architectural proposals and
multitude of approaches to architecture with their own theoretical
standpoint. This in turn allows the student to take ownership of
their projects.
