Born 1962, Liverpool
Co-founded Allford Hall Monaghan Morris in 1989 Paul is a co-founding Director of Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, a leading architectural practice in London. Paul has a background which involves the design, development and review of all projects and the strategic direction of the practice. He works on a wide range of projects including masterplanning, arts, educational buildings, housing, offices, public buildings and health buildings.

Most recently he has been involved in the development Westminster Academy which has won over 15 prestigious design awards including best school, best public building, best London Building and is widely recognised as being one of the best schools in the world. Other recent projects include the award winning development Kentish Town Health Centre, shortlisted for the Stirling Prize 2009 and Barking Central, one of the most successful regeneration projects in the United Kingdom.

In 2000 Paul joined the CABE Enabling Team where he specialises in helping local authorities procure well-designed schools. In 2008 Paul became Vice Chair of the CABE Schools Design Review Panel identifying and reviewing design quality within the entire BSF Programme.

Paul is extensively involved in architectural teaching, lectures and external examinations at several Universities across the UK and taught at the Bartlett School of Architecture for fifteen years, where he is now a visiting professor.

For several years, Paul has been involved with judging and commenting on the work of other architects. He has been chairman of the Young Architect of the Year award which aims to highlight up and coming talent, has always been an active member at the RIBA and has previously been a member on their Client Advisory panel. He is currently a judge for the RIBA Awards Panel which presides over the Stirling Prize, the biggest award in British architecture, as well as judging various architectural competitions.
