Janine first came to Sheffield in 2002 as an undergraduate student to read American Studies. She undertakes doctoral study in her spare time (Janine specialises in African American Studies) and works on a range of interdisciplinary, public engagement projects across the University (she took part in Researchers' Night as part of Festival of the Mind, is a project offer on We Are Here, a widening participation project in The School of English, and she is currently working on a series of Black History Month events).
She holds a dual role in The Department of Biblical Studies. As Student Liaison Assistant, she supports current students during their time with the Department.
As Project Coordinator for External and Community Relations, Janine spends her time:
- building relationships with schools, colleges and prospective students
- promoting our public engagement and widening participation work
- supporting department projects with a wide range of external partners
Janine welcomes enquiries from schools in the Yorkshire region who would be interested in bringing students to campus to sample Religion, Theology and The Bible teaching, or who would like input support from The Department in the provision of RE or PSHE content.
She is also happy to help with any queries from prospective students interested in undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate study in The Department of Biblical Studies.
