Meet the Management Board

Dr David Fletcher

David Fletcher chairs the Sheffield Bioincubator Management Board.

David was appointed Registrar and Secretary of the University of Sheffield in 1999 and brought with him considerable experience of education gained in previous senior appointments, most latterly that of Registrar at the University of Loughborough.

David has a wide range of interests in educational issues and is a Director of the Higher Education Statistics Agency. He has also served as a director of a number of university companies in both Loughborough and Sheffield. He has been a director of the White Rose Technology Seedcorn Fund since its foundation.

Christopher Jewitt

Christopher Jewitt is a founding member of our management board.

Christopher is the managing director of a privately owned, manufacturing company, Footprint Tools Limited, which has been producing quality hand tools in Sheffield for well over a hundred years. He is also a member of the representative Council of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Having obtained a degree in Business Studies from Sheffield Hallam University, then known as Sheffield Polytechnic, he joined Footprint in 1974, working his way through the company, mainly on the sales side, until being appointed Managing Director in 1985. The company has enjoyed a long association with the University of Sheffield having run many collaborative
projects over the last twenty years involving both under graduates and post graduates from the University's Engineering Departments.

In 1996 he was invited to become a lay member of the Facilities and Estates committee of the University of Sheffield and subsequently was elected to sit on the University Council. He also under took the role of Chairman of the project committee that delivered the Bioincubator facility on time and under budget.
