Public Understanding of Science and Biomedical Science
Here in the Department of Biomedical Science we are particularly interested in how the human body develops and functions, and what goes wrong in disease states.
The department has a large number of research groups actively engaged in medical research, and these staff members also play an important role in teaching biomedical science to our undergraduates.
However, many members of staff also have a keen interest in enhancing the public understanding of science. To this end we actively participate in science events within the University, in the local community and on a national basis.
