2. How much are the fees for the MSc courses?
The fee for Home/EU students for the MSc courses in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, Molecular and Cellular Basis of Human Disease and Biomedical Science with Integrated Studies is currently £8,970.00 and for Overseas students £17,990.00
3. Can I study the MSc courses part-time?
No, we only offer the courses on a full-time basis and the course lasts one full year - September to September.
4. Can I start the MSc courses any time during the year?
No, we currently offer a September intake for the MSc courses in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, Molecular and Cellular Basis of Human Disease, MSc course in Integrative Physiology and Pharmacology and the PhD in Biomedical Science with Integrated Studies.
5. When is the deadline for applications?
There is no official deadline; we just recommend you submit your application as soon as possible as places are limited to a nominal intake of 16 per MSc course. If you are an overseas student requiring a visa you should bear in mind that the visa completion process could take anything up to 120 days.
6. Do I need an English Qualification?
If your first language is not English you will have to demonstrate your proficiency in English.
Most applicants will require IELTS average grade 7.0 (with at least 6.0 in each component) or TOEFL internet-based test (IBT) overall score 100 with at least 22 in all components.
Applicants from India with X and XII grade 70% or above in English are exempt.
7. What types of career can I undertake when I have completed the MSc?
The majority of students undertaking MSc degrees in BMS go on to carry out a PhD, a significant number of them remaining in BMS or other departments at the University of Sheffield. We actively seek to keep the best MSc students for our own fully funded PhD places.
In addition students also undertake other research related jobs, either in academia or in the private sector, such as research assistants and research technicians. Other opportunities for BMS MSc graduates include positions in the healthcare industry and in biotech, pharma and bioscience sectors.
