The Bridging the Gaps scheme supports a small number of interdisciplinary research projects that act as flagships for each of the four themes. The projects are supported up to a level of £20,000 and are intended to provide a degree of scientific focus to each theme and momentum to broad based collaborations. Key features of the projects are novelty and relative infancy of the research topic.
