Visiting Scholar Scheme

One element of the Bridging the Gaps programme is the Visiting Scholar Scheme, which is intended to allow University of Sheffield academic or research staff to either host a visiting scholar (academic or research staff) in their Department, or visit another institution.

The visiting scholar scheme is not intended as an alternative source of funds for traditional visits within a single discipline.

Funding

Funding is available to host visitors from overseas/UK academic or research organisations, or to visit overseas/UK academic, research or industrial organisations

Eligibility

There is a strong emphasis in the Bridging the Gaps programme on collaborative research between the discipline areas of Engineering, Mathematics and ICT. With this in mind, preference will be given to bids which clearly span at least two of the three discipline areas.
