On CampUS Placements

Are you a current University of Sheffield student interested in enhancing your employability by taking part in some work experience?

If so, the University of Sheffield is launching a new scheme, On CampUS Placements, to help enhance your employability skills. These placements, which will be based within various academic and professional services departments within the University, will give you the opportunity to complete a paid 100 hour placement.
What does the scheme involve?

Placements will be advertised from February onwards and will offer you the opportunity to work within the university on a project based piece of work, earning £7.29 per hour. You will have the opportunity to learn new and valuable skills which will in turn enhance your CV for future employment. All On CampUS Placements are 100 hours in total – a maximum of 15 hours per week during term time – and must be completed within 16 weeks of the placement start date. 

Am I eligible to take part in the scheme?

To be eligible for the scheme you must be a current University of Sheffield student. International students wishing to apply must have permission to work in the UK for this period. Placements will be available to students from all degree disciplines in a wide variety of areas and could include market research, events management, social media strategy, degree related research and more.

Where will On CampUS Placements take place?

All the placements will be based within University of Sheffield academic departments or professional services departments, so if you are looking to develop experience related to your degree, or gain experience in a new area there should be a placement to interest you!

What else is involved in the scheme?

Skills for Work Certificate

As part of the scheme you will be required to enrol on the Skills for Work Certificate, which you will be awarded on completion of the required activities.

Sheffield Graduate Award

Students taking part in this scheme are also eligible to take part in the Sheffield Graduate Award.
