Postgraduate Research Student
BiographyI started at The University of Sheffield in 2005 and completed my Masters degree in Chemical and Process Engineering with First Class Honours in 2009. It was during my undergraduate degree that I got a taste for Granulation, a common process used to improve product properties in industries such as Food and Pharmaceuticals where it is an important step in tablet production. After completing my research project in this area I was given the opportunity to undertake a PhD under the supervision of Professor Agba Salman within the Particles Product Group. ResearchMy PhD research looks into the Roller Compaction Process used as a dry granulation method in Industry. The aim of the work is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the process through Experimental work and Discrete Element Modelling. |

Interests
I love to travel. I have hitchhiked around Europe as well as having completed extensive trips around Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka and East Africa. When I next manage to find a free month I would like to visit South America. I also have an interest in Alpacas, similar to Llamas, as some friends and I own a small herd down on the south coast of England.
