Continual improvements in safety are necessary in workplaces such as chemical, process and This course integrates risk assessment, safety management systems (SMS) and safety culture showing how they can be assessed and improved. Quantified risk assessments are used as a measure of safety and a tool to reduce; you are also taken through these in the context of the insurance industry to show how risks can affect insurance premiums. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) safety culture assessment tool "climate" is explained and case studies from the onshore and offshore industries are presented to show the impact of improving attitudes to safety at work. You will be taught how to write a Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) safety report to demonstrate SMS systems. |
