The University of Sheffield
Department of Chemistry

International Students

The Department of Chemistry has a truly international feel with over 30 full or part-time undergraduate students from 11 countries around the world. Many are attracted to Sheffield because of its worldwide ranking and reputation as an excellent place to learn in a first class research environment. But it’s not just the track record of the department that’s important: many find the city a really welcoming place with low cost accommodation on offer. Large student populations from many of their home countries make it a true home from home, with the added convenience of having the university facilities all within walking distance, whilst still being part of England’s fourth largest city.

Where do our students come from?

Every year we host students from a wide variety of countries, including Malaysia, Canada, Australia, China, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, South Korea, and Portugal.
