Pre-application visits

If you are approaching the stage of deciding which Universities you wish to enter on your UCAS application, and would like to look around the University first, you can book a place on one of the University Open Days by clicking on the link below. Your visit will consist of an informative talk in the Chemistry department along with a tour of the department.

After submitting your application

Visits to the department are by invitation for successful applicants who have applied for a place through UCAS.

We offer a comprehensive programme for applicants and their parent which includes:

  • Coach tour of Sheffield city centre and university area.
  • Presentation and guided tour of accommodation.
  • Lunch at the student village (complimentary meal voucher provided for all applicants).
  • Course talk by our senior admissions tutor.
  • Interview with an academic member of staff.
  • Tour of the chemistry department.
  • Tour of Information Commons and Students' Union or visit to a partner department.
  • Presentation on the costs of studying at Sheffield (parents only).

These events will give you the chance to to see the city for yourself, talk to staff and see what we have to offer. The programme is scheduled to end by 4.30pm.
