Undergraduate Studies
The Chemistry Department at Sheffield has an excellent educational record, with two Nobel Prize winners amongst our graduates - a record we aim to build up on by continuing to attract high calibre students.
As a large department we are able to offer you a wide range of course options. These include three-year (BSc) and four-year (MChem and MPhys) degrees. We can offer you a range of study options that permit you to gain complementary experience - in industry, with another science or engineering subject, or at a sister university abroad. Australia, USA, Canada and Japan are destinations that generate a lot of interest, though you may prefer to choose a European country where you can polish existing language skills.
Alternatively, a year can be spent on an Industrial placement, acquiring an insight into the workings of the UK Chemical Industry.
