Chemical Physics (MPhys or BSc)

The experimental and theoretical study of the properties of atoms, molecules and matter.
  • UCAS Code: F335/F334
  • Type of course: MPhys/BSc
  • Duration: 4/3 years
  • Entry requirements: BBB/BBB in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics

This is an interdisciplinary course that covers a well-defined overlap between chemistry and physics. Chemical Physics is concerned with the experimental and theoretical study of the structure and properties of atoms, molecules and matter. It should appeal to students interested in atomic and molecular structure, and in the more physical and mathematical areas of chemistry. The first two years involve an intensive study program in the basics of the two disciplines, subsequently there is latitude to explore a variety of advanced topics of interest.
