Teaching Section

Inorganic Chemistry

Courses Taught

  • CHM1401/1402 First year Inorganic Laboratories
  • This aim is to facilitate familiarity with modern laboratory techniques used for chemical analysis, separation and characterisation.
  • CHM2104.8: Characterisation using spectroscopy
The aim of this segment is to introduce a variety of spectroscopic methods and techniques which are used for the characterisation of inorganic molecules and complexes, and to show how these can be used (singly or in combination) to provide information about the structures and properties of the compounds. Substantial use will be made of 'real-life' examples which will illustrate how the various techniques can be used to analyse particular types of compound.

Tutorial & Workshop Support

  • First Year General Tutorials.
  • Second Year Workshops.
  • Third Year Literature Review.

Laboratory Teaching

  • First Year Laboratory Demonstrating
