What does Inspiration do?
Inspiration is a graphical software application that allows you to draw diagrams in the style of mind-mapping techniques. The results can be saved as a Word document, making it useful for planning a substantial piece of writing.
Where can I use Inspiration?
Inspiration is available on all PCs running the CiCS Managed Desktop. This includes the PCs in the Information Commons, the Library and CiCS Student Computer Rooms. Inspiration is also available on staff PCs that are running the Managed Desktop.
Inspiration is also available for purchase by Departments and staff from the Computing Centre Reception. See the links on the right for details.
How do I start Inspiration on the Managed Desktop?
Inspiration is started by following these steps:
- From the Start menu select Load Application Menus. The process is complete in a short time.
- From the Start menu select Applications
- Select Additional Learning Tools
- Select Inspiration 8

What does MindGenius do?
MindGenius is a graphical software application that allows the user to draw diagrams in the style of mind-mapping techniques. The results can be saved as an outline Word document, making it useful for providing an overview of a large project.
Where can I use MindGenius?
