Self Authentication Service for Students

To use University computing systems you need your account details. To receive your account details you will need to prove who you are by supplying your details in an online form. This process is called self-authentication and it takes place during September.

Availability during the week (Monday to Friday)

The self authentication service will be available from the 13th September between 09.00-17.00 in:
  • Information Commons (IC)

Availability at weekends

On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September self authentication will be available for university accommodation residents between 10.00 and 18.00 in:
  • The Edge for residents of The Endcliffe Village
  • The Ridge for residents of The Ranmoor Village

What to bring with you

Students should make sure they have:
  • your admissions number or registration number.
  • a pen and paper to write down your username.
  • a password which complies with University regulations. See the link on the top right to the password regulations.
  • Ucards will not be issued until you attend your scheduled Registration event. You will not be able to access the Library until you have your Ucard.
Students will be able to access the Information Commons as long as you have some personal identification with you that proves you are a member of the University i.e. your registration document.
