HEIDI – the Higher Education Information Database for Institutions
This service is run by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and is a web-based management information service that provides easy access to a rich source of quantitative data about higher education.
The service aims to be self-funding via institutional subscription and is available to all HE institutions in the UK. This new service represents and significant shift in Business Intelligence/Competitor data for HEI´s and as a result, the University of Sheffield subscribes to this service on behalf of all its staff.
To use HEIDI, individual University of Sheffield staff must register with the HEIDI system to obtain a HEIDI user ID and password. As this is an external facility to those services managed by CiCS, this ID and Password is not incorporated into a single sign-on service such as MUSE. Therefore, each staff member with a HEIDI account must take responsibility for their HEIDI account details.
A HEIDI ID and PASSWORD is supplied to an individual, and must not be shared with other staff or external agencies. All users will be subject to terms and conditions as determined by HESA.
To apply for a HEIDI account, please contact our local HEIDI administrator, Miss Margery Green, on 21151 or use email below, who will co-ordinate the request with HESA.

Please note that, the introduction of HEIDI, replaces the old competitor data reporting facility, `LUMIS Lite´ which had previously been supplied within Sheffield Web Reports.
