Composing Effective Announcements

Your message is more likely to be read and to produce the desired response, and less likely to be regarded as another unwanted message, if you take the following steps.

  1. Select the audience you wish to target.
  2. Specify the delivery date and submit your message ahead of time.
  3. Match the topic of your message, its main text, the title and target audience carefully.
  4. Use plain English.
  5. Your title should be clear, concise, brief and should engage your audience's attention.
  6. Your message must contain clear and correct dates, times and locations.
  7. Always check details before submitting a message as it is policy not to send out corrections by email.
