Amazon Phishing Example
Below is an example of a phishing email purporting to be from Amazon.
The images and much of the text are taken from a legitmate email to give the phishing email credibility. Many of the links will also link to the Amazon website to further reinforce the idea that this is a legitimate email.
However, clicking on continue will take you to the web address (URL) highlighted in the bottom left hand corner.
The destination website will often be indistinguishable from the usual Amazon website (again the images and text will be copied); apart from the web address that you see at the top of your web browser.
Further information on how to spot the phishing emails targetted at Amazon customers can be found on the Amazon website.
