How do I prepare images for print?
Supplied images should be 300dpi at 100% of final output size and in CMYK mode. If you scan your own images, make sure you scan them in at 300dpi and as near as possible to the final output size. For example, if you scan an A5 size image and require it to be printed at A4, scan at 200%. Avoid rescaling or manipulate your images in any way as this irreversibly destroys the image. Do not take images or logos from websites as these are only 72dpi and not print quality, they may also infringe upon copyright.
If you wish to know how to alter image sizes in Photoshop, please contact us and we will email an instruction leaflet on PDF.
Furthermore, the University's image bank has thousands of images plus we are able to assist in the commissioning of a photographer and source royalty-free non-University photographs from image libraries.
