On-site visits

Most technical problems can be resolved by the Helpdesk via telephone or email.

Sometimes it might be necessary for a CiCS technician to examine your problem on-site. Requests for on-site visits should be made by telephoning 0114 222 1111 or emailing helpdesk@shef.ac.uk.

If emailing please provide the following information:

Except in exceptional circumstances, it is unlikely that a technician will be available to make a visit immediately. Jobs will be prioritised by the IT Support Group and an estimate will be given as to when a technican can visit.

If you have problems with portable equipment such as a laptop, PDA, etc, you should bring it to the Computing Centre on Hounsfield Road.

Users of the 'Remote Access to Sheffield' service may also be requested to bring their equipment to the Computing Centre, as we are unable to make home visits.
