uSpace - What is it?
uSpace is an online collaboration environment including document co-authoring, blogs, polls and discussions.
It has been chosen to meet the needs of the diverse communities within the University.
- Academics - Develop an interactive learning area for your students in an environment integrated with MUSE and MOLE.
- Researchers - Collaborate with external and internal colleagues in a secure and fluid way.
- Administrative staff - Enjoy new types of communication with the University population. You can create intranet type areas for your department or Faculty, interest groups, discussions or polls. It enables much wider networking across department and role.
- Students - It enables you to work collaboratively and creatively on course work as well as socialise with others.
What uSpace offers
- Media rich environment - you can add photos, video and audio as well as text.
- Spaces and Groups - collaboration areas. See link on the top right for details of the difference between Spaces and Groups.
- Blogs - create departmental, faculty, course or individual blogs.
- Co-authoring documents - a wiki-like ability to co-create documents.
- Polls - ask users what they think.
- Discussions - enable discussions on any subject.
- Follow your friends and colleagues - be notified when your friends or colleagues have updated something in uSpace.
