Video Conferencing in the Information Commons

Videoconferencing in the Information Commons

New Videoconferencing Facilities are now available for students in the IC, in Group Rooms E22 and E24 on Level 4.

Both group rooms have a large LED screen, PC and HD webcam installed in them. The webcams have microphones built in, so no other equipment is needed for a videoconference.

If you want to use your own laptop the LED screen will work,  but you will not be able to use the webcam. If you need a VGA cable to connect your laptop to the screen, these are available from the L1 Information Desk.

The installed desktop videoconferencing applications such as Google Hangouts and Skype allow you to collaboration with students in different locations, and let you work remotely if required.

As with all Group Rooms, these facilities can be booked in advance via MyRooms&Resources in MUSE.
