Responsibilities:
- Support Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) projects from inception, development, implementation and evaluation
- Provide a range of IBL support and advice across the University of Sheffield
- Provide learning and teaching (L&T) information and innovation using various media and formats
- Develop and deliver support materials and workshops
- Conduct investigation and research into pedagogy
- Disseminate findings broadly across the University and externally
- Endeavour to embed a cultural change in L&T across the University
- Develop a strategy for engaging and training staff in use of technology – ‘Unlocking technology for IBL’
- Provide ICT-related support for software
- Oversee CILASS website
- Provide information and publicity material for plasma screen displays
Background:
- Worked in the University’s Computing Service (CiCS) since June 1994
- Technical author, editor and proofreader
- Developed and delivered computer software and systems training materials
- Provided ICT courses for a range of end users both within the University and externally, including the BBC
- Secondment period with Learning Development and Media Unit (LDMU) acting as Learning Development Advisor (Evaluation)
