CIM10 - SEMPRE Financial Support

CIM10 Banner

Applicants to the Conference on Interdisciplinary Musicology in Sheffield who are either: (a) full or part-time students, or who are non-wage earners, and/or (b) researchers from countries whose local economies are relatively poor - in accordance with the United Nations Human Development Index (HDI) - may be eligible for support to attend CIM10 from the Society for Education, Music and Psychology Research (SEMPRE). They must apply to CIM in the usual way as specified in the Call for Papers for either a full paper presentation or a poster. If they wish to be considered for a SEMPRE award, they should explain, in a letter of application submitted with their abstract submission, (a) how attendance at the conference will assist them with their research and/or practice, (b) give an indication of the expected costs of attendance (e.g. broken down into travel, accommodation, fees, subsistence) and (c) explain why other sources of funding are not open to them. If the CIM scientific panel accepts the paper or poster, they will then make a recommendation to SEMPRE for possible funding. The SEMPRE Awards Panel will look at all the recommendations and make decisions, based on the nature of the recommendation, the status of the applicants, the potential number of awards and the overall commitments to its Awards budget. The decision of the SEMPRE Awards Panel is final and they regret that they are unable to enter into correspondence regarding their decision. Each application will be treated equally on its merits. However, SEMPRE will not necessarily fund one person to attend several conferences in succession if this limits funds available for others.
