Intellectual property exploitation and spin-out companies

The Department has seen a significant increase in protection of intellectual property generated through its research activities. It has a number of international patents awarded and this has led to the creation of several successful spin-out companies.

	Formed in 2008 by academics from the Vibration Engineering Section in partnership with The University, Full Scale Dynamics specialises in vibration serviceability, dynamic analysis, vibration testing/monitoring and vibration control of any large structure.Our portfolio covers bridges, footbridges, ground and suspended floors, grandstands, staircases, dams, and tall and long structures in off-shore and nuclear applications. Our competitive advantage is to offer state of the art field-based dynamic testing and unique in-house analytical facilities, using the expertise of our academic-based team with over 60 years of collective research and consultancy experience.
