All of our MSc programmes* are approved by the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Highways and Transportation as satisfying part 2 academic base requirements for a Chartered Engineer under UK-SPEC. Modules offered within the Contaminant Hydrogeology and Environmental Management of Urban Land and Water programmes include short courses endorsed by the Geological Society for Continual Professional Development training.
Each MSc is a 12 month intensive full-time course consisting of 120 credits of taught modules, split equally over two semesters, followed by a 60 credit project dissertation during the summer. The dissertation is tailored to the theme of the course selected. The Postgraduate Diploma is awarded for the successful completion of 120 credits of taught modules and a Postgraduate Certificate is awarded to the successful completion of 60 credits of taught modules.
These courses can also be completed on a part-time basis over a minimum of two years and up to a maximum of five years.
