We offer traditional three-year PhDs, as well as MPhil degrees, four-year PhDs with Integrated Studies and four-year Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) programmes. Different modes of study are also available: full-time, part-time and research away from the University on a joint or remote location mode of study.
Please use the links in the 'See also' panel to find out about staff and research group interests. We recommend that - once you have identified your area of interest - you contact the appropriate member of academic staff to find out more about current project titles and possible funding opportunities.
Entry Requirements
We generally require a good undergraduate Honours degree (UK 2:1 or better) or MSc (merit or distinction) in a relevant science or engineering subject, evidence of potential to carry out a research study successfully, and an approved English Language Qualification (IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 600).
We'll also consider your application if you have appropriate professional qualifications and experience.
