Research Training MA
On the MA in Cognitive Studies there is no formal distinction between a Research Training MA and a Taught MA. For both programmes students will take the Cognitive Studies Seminar, 90 further credits from the modules offered, and will complete the MA by writing up a dissertation. However, the MA in Cognitive Studies is primarily intended for students who wish to pursue further research at doctoral level, with an interdisciplinary character. So all students on the MA in Cognitive Studies should discuss with their supervisor a research topic which can be developed at PhD level and which will form the basis of an application for research funding made during the course of the MA.
