Making complaints about student behaviour

Complaints and concerns about student behaviour are taken very seriously by the University of Sheffield.

The University uses an incident reporting system enabling security staff to monitor complaints and other issues relating to students.

How to make complaints

During office hoursUniversity Security

During office hours you can call the University Switchboard. Calls from members of the community will be routed as appropriate within the University.

Tel: 0114 222 2000

Outside office hours

Outside office hours, the University control room may be contacted. This number is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by security staff.

Tel: 0114 222 4085

Security staff can visit properties to relay resident concerns and remind students of the legal position and of the University's regulations.

They have excellent relationships with the South Yorkshire police working in the areas near the University campus.

The University provides premises for the local police, which contributes to increased policing and a greater visibility of police and community officers in areas with a high density of students.
