Navigation Tips

The Counselling Service website contains a lot of useful information, but this can be difficult to find. To find what you are looking for please follow these navigation tips:

To locate information on a particular topic (e.g. depression, anxiety, exam stress, etc) use the search box in the top right hand corner of the Counselling Service homepage.

To get an overview of the site as whole, and what information it contains, click on `site map´ in the left hand navigation area. The site map lists all the pages on the Counselling Service website and these can be accessed directly by double clicking on the text highlighted in blue.

To find your way back to a page you have previously visited click on the `breadcrumbs´ at the top of the page.

Information on specific aspects of the work carried out by the Counselling Service can be found by clicking on the relevant section of the left hand navigation area. By clicking on 'Services We Offer', for example, you will find information on the Drop-in and other services. And by clicking on 'Help and Advice Topics' you will find information on a range of topics; from Bereavement through to Worry About Appearance.

On the right hand side of the Counselling Service homepage are four grey information blocks, News, Useful Links, Self-Help and Downloads. Each section serves a different purpose. By clicking on the word 'National' under the heading 'Useful Links', for example, you will be directed to a page containing links to the websites of national organisations dealing with a wide range of issues and problems; from Abortion to Stress Management.

Please note that while these links have been provided in order to offer service users further relevant information which they may wish to explore the University Counselling Service is not responsible for the content of external websites.
