£120,000 to improve student computer rooms

In this year's planning round the University has released £120,000 for investment in the Department's teaching laboratories. This is a substantial investment which will enable us to modernise our teaching infrastructure in additional space made available to the Department in Regent Court.

Head of Department, Professor Mahesan Niranjan remarked: "I am absolutely delighted that Senior Management have responded to the case I made in robust letters recently. This investment will give significant teaching time in modern laboratory environment appropriate for teaching some of the hot topics such as Grid Computing, Machine Learning, Computer Games Technology and Intelligent Web we have recently introduced into the curriculum."
