Entry Requirements and Application Procedure
This page lists our standard entry requirements for British and international students. Please make sure that you give us all information regarding your qualifications, broken down into the single subjects you studied, as well as the grades you achieved in each subject. GCE A levelsOur standard offer is ABB (AAB for Enterprise Computing and ITMB). Other UK qualificationsWe accept other UK qualifications as an alternative to A levels. Our typical offer for BTEC applicants will be two Distinctions across 12 BTEC units, plus grade B in A level Mathematics. If you have done an HND or HNC in Computer Studies, Software Engineering or related fields, please contact us for an entry requirement. Please note that HND and HNC students do not qualify for direct entry into the second year. International qualificationsWe accept many international qualifications broadly equivalent to UK A levels. For example, if you are taking the International Baccalaureate we would ask for a minimum of 33 points (35 points for Enterprise Computing degrees), including 5 points in higher-level Mathematics. Find out more about English Language Requirements For students interested in a Foundation YearIf you have not studied Mathematics to A level standard but otherwise satisfy our entry requirements, we can still consider you for entry into our degree programmes a with Foundation Year. The objective of the Foundation Year is for each student to develop a high level of knowledge in mathematics and fundamental science at the equivalent of A level. The subjects studied during the Foundation Year are Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. One of Physics and Chemistry may be replaced with modules offered by the Institute of Lifelong Learning (TILL). A student must pass all subjects to progress onto our degree programmes. Information for mature applicantsWe look favourably at applications from mature students who do not offer one of the standard qualifications mentioned above. We may be able to accept certain qualifications you obtained in your current professional career towards meeting our entry requirements.
