The Application Process
Any student in a clinical year at dental school may apply to the School of Clinical Dentistry Elective Programme.
Before you apply, please ensure you have the following documentation:
- Scanned/electronic copy of a letter of recommendation from the Dean of your institution. This letter must confirm that you are currently a dental student in a clinical year of study.
- Scanned copy of your passport.
- Evidence of a good standard of written and spoken English (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL). Please see the University of Sheffield website for further information on English language requirements.
Decision regarding application
All decisions will be made within three weeks of the application deadline . During this time the Elective Tutors will review your application and select the successful candidates. All applicants will be informed by email of the decision. Please do not contact the School of Clinical Dentistry about your application until after the decision deadline.
Accommodation
It may be possible to stay in University accommodation situated around the city (some travel may be involved). We will send details of accommodation with your acceptance letter if you are successful.
An application form is available to download from the link on the right hand side. This should be completed electronically and sent with electronic copies of the documents requested above emailed to Visiting-Elective-Enquiries@sheffield.ac.uk by no later than 5.00pm (GMT) on 1st October 2012.
