Role and Biography

I am Course Director and Admissions Tutor for the Masters in Social Science and Oral Health. I lead and co-ordinate the masters module for health promotion in the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR). I have been at the School of Clinical Dentistry since 2005 and previously worked in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Research Interests

My research interests fall into four areas; disability and marginalised groups, embodiment and experiences of oral health, health promotion, and cultural beliefs and practices related to health. My main expertise is in qualitative research and its related methods and methodologies; I am particularly interested in developing new research methods and the role of narrative and oral histories.

Current Research

Oral Health needs assessment of adults and children with learning disabilities (NHS £65000).
