Oral Cancer Research in the News

A Yorkshire Post article recently highlighted a new Yorkshire Cancer Research -funded project led by Dr Dan Lambert and Dr Stuart Hunt in the Oral Disease Research Cluster. The project aims to elucidate novel mechanisms by which oral cancer cells communicate with, and modify, the cells around them.

This is a critical step in the invasion and spread of cancer cells, which greatly decreases the chance of surviving the disease. The study forms part of a larger collaborative effort to develop new therapeutic targets and disease markers and ultimately increase survival rates for this devastating and increasingly common condition.
