    Untitled Document

Sheffield University Drama Society (SUDS) has its origins in the long-established Staff Dramatic Society and retains close links with the University of Sheffield with approximately half the membership consisting of University staff both past and present and graduates. The Society stages three productions a year in the University of Sheffield Drama Studio and undertakes a wide range of classic and modern plays. It is generally acknowledged as one of the best societies in the region, winning many local awards.

As well as performances, SUDS arranges regular play-readings, theatre visits (e.g. to Stratford in the summer) and social gatherings such as parties and quizzes. Members receive a regular Newsletter which keeps them up-to-date with plans of forthcoming productions and all the societies activities.

SUDS are always waiting to hear from anyone with an active interest in theatre - actors, producers, stage-managers, lighting, sound, costume, and set designers, front-of-house staff and scenery-shifters. All ages and all levels of experience are welcome. Staff, locally-based graduates and current graduate students are especially encouraged to enquire. For more information on how to join SUDS please visit the their website at www.suds.shef.ac.uk.
