Student life in Sheffield

As an economics student you will be ideally placed to make the most of the University’s facilities, while taking advantage of all that the city of Sheffield has to offer.

The Department of Economics is based on Mappin Street, between the University's main campus and Sheffield city centre. The main campus, including the Students' Union, is approximately five minutes walk away from us. A five-minute walk in the other direction will take you to the vibrant centre of the city.

Just around the corner from Mappin Street is West Street, which is one of the main centres of student social activity. West Street is home to a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and bars and is a popular meeting place for students.
