The University of Sheffield
Department of Economics

Economics undergraduatesYour introductory meeting

The introductory meeting is your first opportunity to meet some of the other students on your course. We'll give you information about your degree programme and advice on choosing your optional modules, if you have any.

We'll also tell you about the other events the department has arranged for Intro Week. These include a first meeting with your personal tutor and sessions on IT and skills for economists.

During these events you'll have plenty of chances to ask questions about everything to do with the department and your studies. But if you have any urgent queries in the meantime, please email Jane Mundy: jane.mundy@sheffield.ac.uk.

At the meeting you can also start getting to know your student society EconSoc and our Student-Staff Forum.

If you can't make it

The introductory meeting is very important: you should make every possible effort to attend. If you really can't reach Sheffield in time for the meeting, you must visit the Department of Economics desk at Module Enrolment in the Octagon Centre (118 on the campus map) on Tuesday 24 September.

If you arrive after 24 September, please come to the Economics Student Support and Enquiry Office as soon as possible. This is in room 227 on the second floor of the Department of Economics building, on Mappin Street (167 on the campus map).
